The first aspect of the M1 to catch the eye is the staggering expanse of glass which stretches across the entire front end of the house. Designed to make the most of the 419 square feet that are available, the kitchen and living area segues easily onto the bedroom as well as the bathroom, every inch of which is exposed to the natural light which enters through one of the long sides of the rectangular floor plan.

The interior is an exercise in modern simplicity, refusing to overcomplicate matters with unnecessary touches and focused instead on doing what it does as well as possible. Lightly-hued wooden flooring holds its own in a color palette focused on crisp whites and understated grays, while the glass and steel appliances add the finishing touches to a careful, confident design scheme.

Like all Honomobo homes, the M1 is Solar Photovoltaic ready, which means that it generates its own electricity and once built creates a net positive of energy costs. Installation is quick and easy, and doesn’t require an inch more than the 34 by 14 ft. footprint, meaning it can make itself comfortable just about anywhere.
